ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS

Typing Requirements

✓ Submit in English using a word processor

✓ Length should be 300 words maximum

✓ Use 10-point Arial font

✓ Title in lower-case bold letters

✓ Underline presenting author’s name

✓ No tables, graphs, or figures

✓ Please ensure that your abstract does not contain any error in spelling, grammar or scientific fact

Content Structure

✓ Concise study purpose (“Introduction”)

✓ followed by sections headed “Methods”

✓ “Results” section

✓ Conclusions” section

Submission Process

✓ Complete the online form

✓ Send Word document to: conference2025@society-scwd.org

✓ Deadline: September 15, 2025

Evaluation & Publication

✓ Evaluated by Scientific Committee

✓ Poster presentation at conference

✓ Publication in Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle (JCSM)

✓ Confirmation of acceptance or rejection will be mailed to the mailing address provided in the section “Presenting author.”

✓ Registration fee required by November 15, 2025

Submission of the abstract constitutes the authors’ consent to publication (e.g. SCWD website, conference programs, other promotions, etc.). Instructions for preparation of posters will be sent together with acceptance notifications, and will be available on the SCWD website closer to the conference date.

POSTER PRESENTATION AND DISPLAY SCHEDULE

There will be 4 poster sessions, from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 December. Posters will be grouped by topic. Authors will be notified by email on which day they are to present their poster. Posters will be displayed all day. Authors are responsible for setting up their poster at the beginning of the conference and removing it at the end of the conference. Each poster board will be identified by a poster number. Refer to the final programme to confirm the number assigned to your poster presentation. Authors are asked to present their posters during the poster presentation sessions to discuss their findings with participants and answer any questions. 

PRESENTATION PREPARATION

Poster Board Dimensions
Poster boards will be provided to display poster presentation materials. The board size is 198 cm high and 98 cm wide and the poster size should be no larger than 1.8m high and 0.9m wide (Recommended format: size A0 [1189 x 841 mm]). Materials, including the title, should not extend beyond the poster size.

  1. All posters should be based on the submitted abstract as accepted by the Scientific Programme Committee. 
  2. The Poster Board Number will be posted on site.
  3. Please bring your poster with you. You will not be able to print your poster on-site.

Please be informed that the Organizing Committee will not be responsible for any damages and losses of posters.

Mounting and Supplies
Pins for mounting will be available on site. Do not use foam core or any thick or multi-layered materials on the poster boards. Please make sure that the material used for the poster allows it to be posted on the boards.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED

 

The authors of the accepted abstracts were notified by email.

There will be poster sessions (grouped into specific categories and moderated by 2 experts) in the poster area during the conference. Each poster author will be invited to discuss his/her poster with other attendees. The date and time of the poster session allocated to the respective abstract, will be provided in November 2025.

The posters will be displayed during the entire conference, i.e. from Thursday, 11th December until Saturday, 13th December.

The maximum size for posters is: 120 cm (height) x 90 cm (width), i.e portrait format.

The abstracts to be presented additionally in one of the plenary sessions (Rapid Fire Abstract Session, Young Investigators Award Session) are being selected by the Scientific Committee and the authors will be notified by latest 15 November 2025.

Only abstracts of authors, who have paid their registration fee by 15 November 2025 will be scheduled for presentation.

Only the abstracts of registered participating authors can be displayed onsite and can be included in the conference program.

Best Poster Award and Young Investigators Award will be conferred and announced in the last session of the conference.

The abstracts to be presented additionally in one of the plenary sessions (Rapid Fire Abstract Session, Young Investigators Award Session) are being selected by the Scientific Committee and the authors will be notified by latest 10 June 2022.

Only abstracts of registered authors can be displayed onsite. We would recommend to register online, prior to the conference, to avoid waiting time at the registration desk.

Best Poster Award, Young Investigators Award will be conferred and announced in the last session of the conference.
