The 16th international Conference of the Society on Cachexia, Sarcopenia & Muscle Wasting, will take place on 17-19 June 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden, under the guidance of Chairs of the SCWD, Professor Stefan Anker (Berlin, Germany) and Professor Gianluigi Savarese (Stockholm, Sweden).

It is clear that cachexia and sarcopenia represent an ever-increasing burden for health-care systems, patients and healthcare professionals.

To make sure the international community around the world keeps abreast with the latest advancements after the challenging COVID 19 pandemic and the recent events in Eastern Europe, the Board of the SCWD is determined to create the best possible conditions for the cachexia and sarcopenia community to meet in person.

SCWD will also make sure highlights of the conference are accessible with virtual options to attend remotely via our digital interactive platform.

Our program in 2023 will be take place over 3 days, with basic science and clinical tracks. Poster sessions will be held on site in Stockholm in order to renew with the productive scientific exchange that characterizes academic spirit. Industry sessions will offer the opportunity to share the latest up-to-date research and to discuss and debate best strategies to meet patient needs.

There will also be opportunities to enhance visibility for your solutions during the conference such as exhibition spaces.

By supporting an educational or networking session and exhibiting at the meeting, your organization can develop relationships with the professionals at the head of research and care.
